Scenario
A fictional small fruit processor experiences repeated conveyor stops, inconsistent preventive work, and difficulty locating common bearings and belts during peak production.
Assessment scope
The demonstration scope includes the receiving, washing, preparation, drying, and packing areas; selected maintenance records; critical spare parts; technician interviews; and visible mechanical observations.
Example findings
- Asset names differ between the line, notebook, and spare-parts shelf.
- Several preventive tasks say only “check machine” and contain no acceptance criteria.
- Temporary repairs are not tracked to permanent closure.
- Repeated bearing replacements are recorded without operating condition or failure cause.
- Critical belts and bearings have no agreed minimum stock level.
Example action structure
Immediate actions would control unsafe or high-consequence defects. The next workstream would verify the asset register, rewrite selected PM tasks, create a temporary-repair register, review repeat bearing failures, and confirm critical spare-part levels.
CMMS readiness
The fictional factory would not begin with a full data import. It would pilot one line after asset codes, task instructions, responsibilities, and completion evidence are verified.
The purpose of this demonstration is to show method and documentation structure. No downtime reduction, cost saving, or operational result is claimed.
