Start with fields that support real maintenance decisions:
- unique asset code;
- asset name and description;
- parent system or equipment;
- physical location;
- department or owner;
- manufacturer, model, and serial number where available;
- criticality;
- key technical ratings;
- status: active, standby, out of service, or retired;
- photograph and nameplate evidence;
- manuals and drawings;
- safety or isolation references within the approved process;
- compatible critical spares;
- preventive-maintenance strategy;
- data owner and last verification date.
Add detail only when it supports work planning, inspection, spares, safety, analysis, or a management decision.
